TPU is highly hygroscopic (it actively absorbs moisture from the air). To avoid severe stringing, we strongly recommend drying the spool in a filament dryer at 50–55 °C for 4–6 hours before printing.
🔹 Specialized Preset for Flex (TPU)
Nozzle Temperature: 225 °C (recommended working range: 200–230 °C)
Bed Temperature (Textured PEI / High Temp Plate): only 30–35 °C (Attention! Do not set the bed temperature any higher. Flexible TPU adheres incredibly well, and overheating the bed can fuse the plastic to the plate, permanently damaging the coating).
Layer Height: 0.2 mm
Retraction: Length 0.8 mm, Speed 30 mm/s (conservative minimum retraction for Direct Drive extruders)
Walls & Geometry:
Top Shell Layers: 7 layers (ensures thin, rubber-like top surfaces do not sag)
Infill Density: 18% | Infill Pattern: Triangles (optimal for maintaining part elasticity and springiness)
Speed: 30 mm/s for all printing movements
Kingroon TPU 95A is a thermoplastic polyurethane with optimal Shore hardness (95A).
This material allows for printing flexible, rubber-like parts even on printers with a Bowden extruder (with correct speed settings), while on direct extruders, printing is as easy as with standard PLA.
The plastic boasts incredible wear resistance, the ability to compress and regain its shape, and to dampen vibrations.
Suitable for:
- Shock absorbers, dampers, sealing gaskets, and bushings.
- Protective cases for phones, action cameras, and remote controls.
- Shoe soles, flexible elements for costumes and masks.
Technical Specifications:
- Filament Diameter: 1.75 mm
- Net Weight: 1 kg
- Extruder Temperature: 210 - 230 degrees
- Bed Temperature: 40 - 60 degrees (or no heating on masking tape/glue)
- Recommended Speed: 20 - 40 mm/s (requires slow printing without sharp retractions).
